Women's Tennis Earns NCAA Championship Bid

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest womens tennis team earned an invitation to the 1998 NCAA Tennis Championships, as announced today by the NCAA.
The Demon Deacons, ranked 12th in the country, will be making their fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championships and currently own a 17-8 record.
Wake Forest is one of 10 schools to earn byes from the regional tournaments and be placed directly in the championship round of 16. The event will take place May 21-29 at the University of Notre Dame and pairings will be announced following the conclusion of the six regional championships that will be held next weekend.
The other nine schools to earn automatic bids to the NCAA Womens Championships are Stanford, Florida, Duke, Georgia, California, Texas, Mississippi, Brigham Young and Arizona State.
