Women's Volleyball Exits in Quarterfinals of ACC Tourney

COLLEGE PARK, MD -The Wake Forest women's volleyball team fell to Florida State, 3-0, in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament on Friday afternoon in College Park, Md.
With the victory, Florida State improves to 23-10 and advances to the semifinals to face the winner of the Virginia/Maryland match. Wake Forest wraps up the 1998 season with an overall record of 21-12, a dramatic turnaround from the Demon Deacons' 1997 record of 8-24.
Susan Hawks led Florida State with 11 kills and a .588 hitting percentage as the Seminoles swept all three games by scores of 15-6, 15-11 and 15-11. Jennifer Werrick finished the game with 13 kills and 15 digs while Holly Schneider tallied 12 kills and 16 digs for FSU.
Freshman Trina Maso de Moya led the Demon Deacons with a match-high 15 kills to go along with 15 digs. Teammate Katie Horne also recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs.
