Skorupka Named Assistant Women's Tennis Coach

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Chad Skorupka has been named assistant women's tennis coach at Wake Forest University, it was announced today. Skorupka will assist second-year head coach Brian Fleishman, who took over the reins of the Demon Deacon program last spring.
Skorupka comes to Wake Forest from Penn State, where he served as an assistant women's tennis coach for the past three seasons. During that time, he was honored as the 1998 ITA Region I Assistant Coach of the Year and the 1998-99 USTA/Middle States/Central Penn District Coach of the Year. Prior to that position, he served as the USTA's District Coordinator of Player Development in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and West Virginia in 1996, and was the USTA's Play Tennis America Coordinator in Indianapolis, Ind., in 1995-96.
A 1994 graduate of Penn State, Skorupka was a four-year letterwinner on the Nittany Lions men's tennis team, captaining the squad as a junior and senior and earning the Senior Award for Athletic Excellence in 1994.
He is a United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) Certified Teaching Professional.
