WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Jenny Everett and Samantha Rush scored three goals apiece to lead the ninth-ranked Wake Forest field hockey team to a 10-1 route of the Davidson Wildcats here at Kentner Stadium Wednesday night.

The Deacons held a 7-0 lead at halftime and cruised to the victory from there. In the first half, Everett and Rush combined for six of the Deacons' seven goals. Amy Marchell added a goal early in the first half.

In the second half, Davidson got on the board with a goal by Alex Rogers to make the score 7-1. Wake added three more goals with Heather Aughinbaugh, Marchell and Jemima Cameron providing the offense for the Deacs.

With the win, Wake Forest improves to 8-0 on the season. The Deacons open ACC play on Saturday, Sept. 25 when they travel to College Park, Md. to take on the fourth-ranked Terrapins. Gametime is set for 1 p.m.
