Wake Forest Falls To Georgia Tech, 3-1

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Maja Pachale recorded 19 kills and 19 digs to lead visiting Georgia Tech to a 3-1 victory over Wake Forest in an ACC volleyball match at Reynolds Gymnasium.
Wake Forest (10-4, 0-2 ACC) took the first game, 15-13, then rallied from a 10-2 deficit to tie the second game at 14-14. Georgia Tech (11-3, 1-0) held off the Deacs for a 16-14 win, however, then went on to win Games 3 and 4, 15-12 and 15-10.
Three other Yellow Jackets recorded double-doubles in the win: Kyleen Bell (14 kills, 20 digs), Sara McKee (14 kills, 14 digs), and Teryl Townsend (12 kills, 12 digs). Tech setter Carolyn Clevenger added 53 assists.
For Wake Forest, sophomore outside hitter Trina Maso de Moya tallied a team-high 17 kills and 25 digs, while junior setter Julie Cowley contributed 49 assists and 14 digs.
Wake Forest hosts Florida State on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 7:00 pm in Reynolds Gym.
