Field Hockey Hosts No. 2 Tar Heels

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The 11th ranked Wake Forest field hockey team will host the second-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels in the team's ACC home opener Saturday, Oct. 2.
The Deacons come into the game at 8-1 overall and 0-1 in ACC play. North Carolina is currently 8-1 overall and 2-0 in the league.
North Carolina leads the all-time series 23-1-4. The first meeting between the two schools came in 1972 with Wake Forest winning at home 4-1. The teams met twice last season with the Tar Heels coming out on top by scores of 3-0 and 3-1.
The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. and will be played at Kentner Stadium. There is no admission charge.
