UNC Charlotte Volleyball Comes From Behind To Beat Wake

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team dropped its first match of the season on Wednesday night, falling to UNC Charlotte, 3-2, at UNCC's Halton Arena.
The 49ers won the first game, 15-12, before Wake rallied to win the second and third games, 15-2 and 15-12. Charlotte surged back to win game four, 15-3, then clinched the match by holding on to win the fifth game, 15-13.
Sharon Harmsworth led the Deacons with 13 kills, while Julie Cowley added 43 assists. Trina Maso de Moya tallied 32 digs, while Margaret Davidson netted six blocks. For UNCC, Marsha Waufle had 16 kills, while Ozlem Ayture had 48 assists.
Wake Forest (5-1) is next in action this weekend when they travel to Oxford, MS, to compete in the Ole Miss Invitational.
