Whitehead Named To U.S. Field Hockey Squads

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Maria Whitehead, a freshman on the Wake Forest field hockey team, has been named to the U.S. Field Hockey Association (USFHA) Women's Under-19 and Under-21 squads and will have a chance to compete for a spot on the Under-19 and Under-21 teams.

The two teams will compete at different venues around the world. Most of the competitions will take place between February and July, but the A-Camp, which will conclude the team's competition, will be Dec. 27-31 at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Whitehead was one of two ACC players to be named to the Under-19 Team and one of 11 conference players on the Under-21 Team.
