Five Deacon Baseball Players Named All-ACC

FORT MILL, S.C. --Five Wake Forest baseball players were named to the 2000 All-ACC Team released by the ACC on Saturday.

Short stop Chase Voshell and right-handed pitcher Scott Siemon were named to the first team, while catcher Dan Conway, center fielder Cory Sullivan and right-handed pitcher Eric Schmitt were placed on the second-team.

Voshell is third on the Wake Forest team in batting with a .333 average, and leads the team in doubles with 21. Siemon has been the team's lead weekend starter all season. He has compiled a 10-2 record and a 2.62 ERA in his junior season. Conway led the team and was second in the ACC in home runs with 14, while Sullivan led the team in hitting among every-day players with a .364 average. Schmitt was 6-0 with a 2.53 ERA.

The five players is the most the Deacs have had on the All-ACC team since 1978. Wake has had at least one player on the first team for the last three seasons in a row.
