Wake Paired With Michigan In 2000 ACC/Big Ten Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest and Michigan will kick off the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in Ann Arbor (Mich.) on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. in an ESPN nationally-televised game. The WFU-Michigan match-up is the first of nine ACC/Big Ten battles over a two-day period.
More on the Deacons and the ACC/Big Ten Challenge:
- The Nov. 28 meeting will be the first ever between Wake Forest and Michigan.
- The Demon Deacons are 1-0 in the young history of the ACC/Big Ten
Challenge. Last season in Winston-Salem, Wake knocked off eventual Final
Four participant Wisconsin, 67-48 in Lawrence-Joel Coliseum.
- Wake Forest is 9-13 all-time against teams from the Big Ten.
- The Deacs will play a game in the state of Michigan for the first time
since the 1995 Great Eight (a win vs. Oklahoma State in Auburn Hills).
- All nine games in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge will be televised by either
ESPN, ESPN 2 or ESPN Regional.
- The Big Ten (Michigan State) and ACC (Wake Forest) captured both national championships (NCAA, NIT) last season.
