Wake Women's Soccer Falls To Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Wake Forest University women's soccer team, ranked 12th in the nation, was defeated 0-2 by Missouri on Sunday afternoon in the finals of the Ellis Copy Tiger Invitational. Missouri, the host of the tournament, shutout the Demon Deacons in their first loss of the season.
Wake Forest blasted 14 shots, six on goal, but none got past Missouri goalkeeper Graham Watson. After a scoreless first half, The Tigers broke open the game at the 63:57 mark when Adriene Davis scored the game-winning goal for Mizzou. Melissa McLellan put in MU's second goal unassisted.
Stacy Roeck led the Deacs with four shots, placing two on frame. Tracy Chao collected ten saves in goal.
Missouri improves to 3-1 on the season and Wake Forest falls to 3-1. The Demon Deacons return to action at on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Charlotte. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
