Maso De Moya Earns Conference Honors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest junior outside hitter Trina Maso de Moya earned ACC Player of the Week honors for her play during the Deacs' three games in the Deacon Invitational this past weekend. It marks the first weekly award presented by the conference during the 2000 volleyball season.
Maso de Moya, averaged 5.22 kills per game, 0.78 service aces per game in addition to 6.33 digs per game in Wake Forest's first three matches of the 2000 season. The Demon Deacons finished the weekend with a undefeated record with wins over UNC Charlotte, Campbell and Northern Arizona on their way to winning the Deacon Invitational.
The Fort Lauderdale native also tallied double digit kills and digs in each of the three matches with her best overall performance of 16 kills, 24 digs, five service aces and four block assists against Northern Arizona. She was also presented with MVP honors for her play during the tournament.
Maso de Moya and the Deacons will be in action again September 8 and 9 as they travel to Huntington, WV to participate in the Marshall Invitational.
