Volleyball Faces Florida State On The Road

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest volleyball is on its last leg of its road trip, traveling to Florida Sunday to take on the Seminoles at 1 p.m. After having their four-game winning streak brought to an end by the Blue Devils, the Demon Deacons are ready for a win.
The Demon Deacons come into the match after recent loss to the Blue Devils Tuesday night. The 2-3 loss was a heartbreaker for Wake in five games, 32-34, 30-24, 30-25, 23-30, 9-15, their third loss in the ACC. Senior Trina Maso de Moya posted 19 kills and 18 digs, two service aces and two block assists. Senior Margaret Davidson registered 15 kills and a .355 hitting percentage. Wake is 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the ACC.
Wake boasts the ACC Volleyball Player of the Week this week. Junior setter Ashlee Phillips earned the honors after recording 152 assists, 23 digs and a .617 hitting percentage in 10 games. She also contributed 21 kills, no hitting errors, four service aces and six blocks for the week. Phillips averages 13.06 assists per game, leading the conference.
Other ACC leaders include Maso de Moya, leading the ACC in digs with 4.33 per game and Wake Forest leads the ACC in kills, totaling 839.
The Seminoles come into the match 6-8 overall and 3-3 in the ACC after enjoying wins over NC State and Florida A&M. Florida State faces Duke on Friday night before hosting Wake on Sunday.
Florida State leads the all-time series record versus Wake Forest, 2-9.
