Head coach Valorie Baker acknowledged the significance of tonight's win in the ACC rankings and was proud of the contribution from the bench.
"This was a great win for us. Maryland was right below us in the ACC rankings, therefore this was a huge win for us at home," said Baker. "A lot of kids came in and contributed tonight. Katy de Roeck did a nice job defensively. She helped terminate a lot of balls for us. Trina obviously had an outstanding game with 18 kills and 13 digs. Our middles, Jessica and Margaret, did a nice job with high hitting percentages. They all contributed to a big win!"
Wake Forest continues its home matches this weekend, hosting Florida State on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. and Virginia on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 5 p.m.
