Volleyball Faces Elon Tonight

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest volleyball travels to Elon on Wednesday to face the Phoenix at 6 p.m. The Deacons are riding a hot streak and are looking to pick up a couple more wins to finish the season. Wake leads the all-time series record against Elon, 14-5. After tallying three wins last week, the Deacons are 17-8 overall and 10-5 in the ACC. The Phoenix are 6-20 overall and 1-12 in the Big South.

The Deacons went 3-0 this past week, defeating Maryland, Florida State and Virginia. Wake defeated Maryland 3-1 on Tuesday night 30-18, 26-30, 30-23 and 30-28. After finding the right rotation to include reserves Kim Stern and Amanda Tiller, the Deacs prevailed with the win over Maryland.

Wake upset Florida State Saturday night, 3-2, after dropping the first two games. Wake scored 21-30, 26-30, 30-28, 30-27 and 15-8 to solidify its fourth place standing in the ACC. Trina Maso de Moya was in double figures, posting 26 kills and 29 digs for the night. Then the Deacs put away Virginia in three games on Sunday, 30-27, 30-15, 30-21. Margaret Davidson tied a season-high 11 kills and seven block assists.

The Phoenix come into the match after suffering a 1-3 loss to Western Carolina on Saturday. Elon is riding a 15-game losing streak and the Phoenix have only defeated one team in its conference.
