Wake Forest head coach Tony da Luz
On the shootout: "We had additional practice on penalty kicks every day this week. We felt comfortable with them and (Erin) Regan was ready."
On the team's play: "It was a great team effort. Roeck had a great game. We played her up front, then moved her to right back, then to midfield and after Winstead popped her shoulder out, she (Roeck) moved back to sweeper."
On Emily Taggart's play: "She (Taggart) was out all week because of her neck injury. To play 90 minutes with people hanging all over her, they mark her so close, it's remarkable. That cross was phenomenal. She was going away, falling away, and she gave Roeck time to get under the ball. I'm proud of Taggart and the effort she gave."
Wake Forest sophomore defender Alena Thom
On the deciding penalty kick: "We practice them, we were ready. I felt we deserved it. You gotta do what you have to do."
Wake Forest senior forward/midfielder/defender Stacy Roeck
On the cross from Taggart: "It was my job to get the far post and I got there as fast as I could. Emily played a perfect ball and I was able to get there in time."
Clemson head coach Todd Bramble
On elimination by shootout: "As any team in that situation would tell you, it is a cruel way to end the night and what is shaping up to be a great tournament. I'm not disappointed at all in the team's effort. I'm proud of the way the team battled, if nothing else, this has prepared us to make a run at the NCAA Championships. We had to take our chances when they came because this was a typical ACC battle."
