Wake Forest vs. Marquette Dec. 29, 2001 - Postgame Quotes
Wake Forest Head Coach Skip Prosser
On losing the lead: "They are very good. Obviously we had a 19-point lead but lost it. We had decent looks but our turnovers at crucial times would have been our downfall."
On the crowd: "The crowd was good. It felt like a home crowd and a home court and we needed that. Our guys take prided in the fact that we haven't lost here yet."
On the game: "We guarded well, holding them to 38% from the floor. It is frustrating having the lead, then losing it. We need to correct a few things. They did a good job offensively in the second half. We played better than we have played in a long time in the first half."
On the seniors: "We had talked for the last 24 hours that our seniors had to play like seniors. We ran some plays for Antwan. We were fortunate to get a win off a good Marquette team."
Marquette Head Coach Tom Crean
On the game: "It was an extremely hard fought game. It was more of a measuring stick for our team. The first half put us in a hole that we couldn't get out of, but we got the play we wanted in the second half."
On Travis Diener: "(Travis) Diener did a great job and now I think we have too guards at that position."
On Dwayne Wade: "Dwayne is a creator. I like having the ball in his hands. He is a shooter and a passer."
On Wake Forest: "We have a young team that hasn't played in a tough environments. You must bring the best effort the entire time and Wake, here in ACC country. Wake has great rebounding, guard play, inside play, but they also have great transition."
