Two Demon Deacons Named To The AVCA All-Region Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wake Forest seniors Trina Maso de Moya and Margaret Davidson were named to the 2001 AVCA All-Region team announced today. The duo was among 12 players, 10 from the ACC, named to the East Region.
This is the third time that Maso de Moya has been named to the All-Region team in her career. She leaves Wake Forest setting new career records in kills (1,848), attempts (4,785), kills per game (4.19), service aces (182), digs (2,010) and digs per game (4.56). Other accolades include 2000 ACC Player of the Year, All-ACC first team three times, and All-ACC Freshman team. Maso de Moya finishes the season leading the ACC in service aces (0.60 pg) and digs (4.40 pg).
This is the first time that Davidson received All-Region honors. She owns Wake's individual career records for total blocks (472) total blocks per game (1.13) and block assists (388). Davidson was named to the All-ACC second team three times and made the All-ACC Freshman team. She finishes the season second in the ACC in hitting percentage (.351).
The AVCA will announce the All-America team on Wednesday, Dec. 12. There will be 12 spots filled for both the first and second teams.
