Wake Forest head coach George Greer:
"Josh Bartlett made a couple of good pitches there in the first inning and then the bloop hit got things going. They seemed to get the momentum off that one hit in the first inning. They came out and jumped on us right away. If you let Florida State jump on right away they are going to give you a tussle for the whole game."

"We are looking forward to playing tomorrow. Our philosophy the whole year and every game has been, and we starting talking about this from the first day guys come to practice, is when you leave the field it is a new day. Regardless of what happens in the game or in practice, it is a new day. So as far as we are concerned, tomorrow is a new day.

On what his squad will do for the remainder of the day:
"Any time you play in hot weather you have to make sure you have plenty of fluids and eat right. You want them to enjoy the experience of being at the ACC Tournament. It is a once in a lifetime tournament. There are only a few tournaments like this in the country. This is a wonderful experience for our athletes, the families and the coaches. You want them to enjoy the camaraderie, the games and come back with a fresh outlook tomorrow.

Florida State head coach Mike Martin:
"Now those guys (Wake Forest) can just sit back and smile and wait for us and somebody else to battle it out tonight.

"The game was a little surprising in that we got up eight so quickly. I think that's a credit to our approach to the game. Our guys had a lot of good at-bats early and good hits early.

"We never looked at Trent Peterson going nine innings, so that was a tremendous lift for our club. For Trent to go out and pitch nine innings and only give up five hits against a team as talented as Wake Forest is quite an accomplishment.

[on Tony Richie] "We expected Tony to hit in the middle of the lineup, but he got off to a tough start. There were a lot of expectations for Tony. Now he's got 60 ballades under his belt, and he's playing up to the expectations that we all had for him. Catching and throwing, he's as good as we've had, I'm just pleased that Tony is relaxed and playing the way's he capable of playing.

"We're playing with a lot of emotion. We're really getting after it, and you can't teach that. That comes from within. We've got a difficult task, but we just hope that we have the opportunity to play tomorrow."

Florida State pitcher Trent Peterson:
"I just tried to hit the corners and spot the ball as best I could. When I got the run support early, I was able to relax and settle in. I got a lot of help from the double plays. My curve ball worked well today. I had good location, and even when they weren't swinging at it, I was able to get strikes."
