- Wake Forest falls to 41-17 overall and loses its first NCAA Tournament game for the first time in nine NCAA Tournament appearances.
- Ryan Braun took the loss, his first since April 25 at Charlotte. He allowed five earned run, tying a career-worst. He had allowed just two earned runs in his last 16.2 innings.
- The ninth inning home run by Benjamin was just the second homer allowed by Bush this season.
- Wake Forest never led in the game.
- The Demon Deacons are now 3-12 when trailing after seven innings.
- Wake Forest is now 6-10 in games where they get out-hit.
- Ryan Braun had made just one error in 12 games prior to today. He committed two in the game.
- Jamie D'Antona belted his 14th home run of the season in the ninth inning.
- The Deacons will face the loser of the Tennessee-Middle Tennessee State game at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville.
