- No. 47 Wake Forest (14-10 overall), the 33-48 seed in the regional, will play 20th ranked Fresno State (17-8 overall), the 17-32 seed in the regional, at 10:00 a.m. (Moutain Time), Friday, May 11 in the first round of the NCAA Championship in Provo, UT. The Demon Deacons and Bulldogs have never met before.
- The winner will advance to the regional finals on Saturday, May 12 to face the winner of the No. 16 California (14-8 overall), the 14 seed in the 64-team field, and the host team No. 67 Brigham Young (14-9 overall), the 49-64 seed in the regional, at 2:00 p.m. (Mountain Time). The Demon Deacons have never played the Golden Bears before, but are 2-0 versus the Cougars.
- This NCAA Championship berth is the second time Wake Forest has earned a trip to the dance.
- Wake Forest's first trip to the NCAA Championship was in 1998, when the Demon Deacons lost 4-0 to Virginia Commonwealth in the first round.
- This will be head coach Jeff Zinn?s fourth trip to the NCAA Championship. He led the Deacs to their first-ever NCAA Championship berth in 1998 after taking Arkansas-Little Rock twice in 1995 and 1996.
- The 4-2 victory over No. 62 Florida State April 20 in the ACC Championship quarterfinals marked the first time Wake Forest had advanced to the ACC Championship semifinals since 1993.
- Justin Kaufmann was named an ACC Singles Flight Champion after putting together a 6-2 singles record in conference play this season and a 5-2 mark in the number six position. The junior from Mission Hills, KS, is the seventh Demon Deacon to earn the honor in the program's history and the first since Christian Dallwitz and Marco Lucioni in 1986. Kaufmann has 21-14 overall record in singles play this season.
- Freshman David Loewenthal leads the team with 28 singles victories, placing him in a tie for fifth place for Wake Forest single-season singles victories.
- Raul Munoz is Wake Forest's all-time leader in doubles wins with 88 career doubles victories. The senior from Mexico City, Mexico is also fifth on the career singles victories list at WFU.
- Munoz was selected to the All-ACC team, the first Demon Deacon to earn all-conference honors since Myles Clouston in 1999.
- Wake Forest?s five conference wins this season are more than any Demon Deacon team has amassed since winning six ACC matches in 1981.
- The Demon Deacons? fourth place regular season finish in the ACC is their highest since finishing fourth in 1994.
