No. 4 Demon Deacons Set To Begin Six-Match Home Stand

Wake Forest will take No. 15 Notre Dame on Friday at 4 p.m. before a doubleheader against No. 42 Louisville and Davidson on Sunday.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Carrying a 10-match win streak into the weekend, the No. 4-ranked Wake Forest Men's Tennis team is set to return home for a trio of matches against No. 15 Notre Dame, No. 42 Louisville and Davidson at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
On Friday, Wake Forest will battle the Fighting Irish at 4 p.m. before a Sunday doubleheader against the Cardinals (1 p.m.) and Wildcats (5 p.m.).
The Demon Deacons will look to extend their home match winning streak to 41 with victories in all three of this weekend's matches. Since 2013, Wake Forest has the most home wins (235) in the county and the second-most overall wins (373).
Additionally, Wake Forest has won 19-consecutive ACC regular season matches following a flawless run last year and has taken a total of 120 conference victories since the start of the 2013 campaign.

Hot Start
The Demon Deacons have opened the 2026 campaign with a combined 64-15 record in singles and 36-10 mark in doubles and have swept in five of the last six matches. Sophomore Joaquin Guilleme leads the team with 13 singles wins to just two losses, followed by sophomore standout Luca Pow with an 11-3 record.
Wake Forest freshmen have accounted for 26 wins this campaign, led by three-time ACC Freshman of the Week Mees Rottgering with a 10-2 mark and Dominick Mosejczuk with eight wins and zero losses.
Chasing History
DK Suresh and Luca Pow have played a major role in Wake Forest's success over the last three years and have been climbing up the program record books. Suresh is already seventh all time in career doubles wins (90) and Pow is six away from cracking the top 10 himself.

Last Time Out (vs. Florida State)
The No. 4-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team closed out the weekend in come-from-behind fashion Sunday afternoon, defeating No. 49 Florida State, 4-3, at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.
With the victory, Wake Forest improved to 19-24 all-time against Florida State and has now claimed 13 of the last 18 meetings between the two programs.
Wake Forest once again seized early momentum, claiming the doubles point for the eighth consecutive match and the 16th time this season with victories on courts one and two.
The No. 4-ranked pair in the country, consisting of senior DK Suresh Ekambaram and redshirt freshman Andrew Delgado, battled to a 6-3 victory on court one over Schiessl/Sebesta as the duo is now 5-0 together this spring. Of note, Delgado is now 9-0 overall in doubles this season and 4-0 in singles.
Additionally, Suresh picked up his 90th-career doubles win in the Old Gold & Black and is now just two away from being tied for fifth all time in program history.
The doubles point would come down to court two, where freshman Mees Rottgering and sophomore Kacper Szymkowiak also remained perfect as a duo (4-0) with a 6-4 victory against Alkotop/Lyons.
Despite the Seminoles taking five of six first sets on the day, Wake Forest battled back and earned hard-fought victories on courts one, three and five en route to the 4-3 win.
With the team down 2-1, Rottgering leveled the match following his dominant performance in sets two and three to defeat No. 76 Erik Schiessl on court one (4-6, 6-0, 6-2). The two-time ACC Freshman of the Week is now 10-2 on the year and 4-1 against ranked opponents.
On court five, freshman Aryan Shah got back to his winning ways and took down Gabor Hornung, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and gave Wake Forest a 3-2 advantage. Of note, freshmen have now accounted for 26 singles wins for the Deacs this campaign.
Following another Florida State win on court six, the match came down to junior standout Luca Pow on three, where he came up clutch once again for Wake Forest and secured the win with a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 three-setter over Mohammad Alkotop. He now ranks second on the team with 11 singles victories this spring, trailing only Joaquin Guilleme (13).
Additionally, Pow now sits at 89 career singles wins (spring and fall) through two and a half seasons, the most out of any active Demon Deacon.
Rankings Update
The Demon Deacons were tabbed as the fourth-best team in the nation in the latest ITA poll after spending most of last season in the top spot, and is one of five ACC teams ranked inside the top 25 to open the outdoor season. Individually, Wake Forest has five singles players and one doubles pair ranked.

The Bresky Era
Since arriving at Wake Forest, head coach Tony Bresky has enjoyed a highly-decorated career, winning ITA National Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2025, along with garnering ACC Coach of the Year honors in 2013, 2016 and 2025.
Bresky led Wake Forest to its first-ever national title in 2018, after accumulating a 33-2 mark and most recently led one of the most dominant seasons in collegiate tennis history as the Deacs won 40 matches en route to capturing the ACC regular season title, ITA Indoor Title and NCAA Championship.
Individually, Bresky has coached two ACC Players of the Year (Noah Rubin and Melios Efstathiou), along with 40 All-ACC selections and 12 ITA Singles All-Americans.
During his tenure at Wake Forest, Bresky has amassed 385 wins. Of note, early in 2023 with a victory over No. 6 Tennessee, Bresky became the winningest coach in program history, surpassing the legendary Jim Leighton. Most recently against Texas, he reached the 400-career win mark.

Last Time Out (vs. Florida State)
