Bea Bielik Named to Rolex Collegiate All-Star Team

Princeton, N.J. - Wake Forest women's tennis player Bea Bielik (Valley Stream, N.Y.) has been named to the 2001 Rolex Collegiate All-Star Team, which will be honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), TENNIS Magazine and Rolex Watch, U.S.A., August 24 at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, N.Y.
The ITA and TENNIS Magazine selected this 18th edition of the Rolex Collegiate All-Star Team, which includes the nation's top-ranked men's and women's tennis players at the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and NJCAA levels.
Bielik, a rising junior, finished the 2000-01 season ranked third in the nation, won both the National Clay Court singles and doubles titles, and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA singles championship. She was an All-America selection for the second straight year in both singles and doubles, while leading the Wake Forest women's tennis team to an appearance in the NCAA Round of 16.
The Rolex Collegiate All-Star Team will be treated by Rolex and TENNIS Magazine to a weekend in New York, highlighted by the Aug. 24 activities at the West Side Tennis Club. Following a continental breakfast at West Side, the Rolex All-Stars will participate in doubles play with guests from Rolex, TENNIS Magazine and the ITA. The Rolex All-Stars will then be honored at a special luncheon and presented their awards by tennis legend Stan Smith, a former U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion. Smith, who also won NCAA titles while at the University of Southern California. He is also Special Advisor/Coach for the United States Tennis Association and an instruction editor for TENNIS Magazine.
