Wake Forest vs. Richmond Jan. 2, 2002 - Postgame Quotes

Wake Forest Head Coach Skip Prosser

On the game: "If you look at the stat sheet they shot, 30 percent from the floor and 17 from the three. It is important to guard from three. It was our goal to be plus 10 from the boards and we were 24 and to shoot plus 20. Again 21 turnovers don't help us. Richmond is not a team that pressures a whole lot. Vytas, Taron and Steve played well off the bench and we need that to be successful. There won't be a better-coached team to play in the Joel all year. We got our tenth win and will now be back in conference play."

On Richmond's strategy: "Nothing they did we weren't prepared for, even the box and one on Craig. We knew what they were going to do. It is still amazing we won the game with 21 turnovers."

On Josh Howard: "Josh is one guy that can make plays off the dribble. A playmaker. Sometimes you need a guy like that to become really good. He played with a lot of unselfishness."

On North Carolina: "They did struggled early but I haven't seen many of their games. They have talented players. I don't think anybody on our Wake team has won there."

Wake Forest Player Darius Songaila

On the game: "We couldn't score and execute as well as we wanted to. You get used to their defense and we got a little more comfortable."

On the bench: "The guys that came off the bench came off strong."

Richmond Head Coach John Beilein

On positives of the game: "I'm proud that we could stick with them and I'm pleased that we could force the turnovers and only have seven ourselves. In the second half we had great looks, but they didn't go down."

On current situation: "I really don't know where we are because we aren't shooting well, so it's hard to tell right now."
