WAKE FOREST V. MARYLAND POST GAME NOTES JANUARY 23, 2002
* Wake Forest used the same starting lineup for the 19th consecutive game. * Darius Songaila started for the 105th time, tying Jim Johnstone for sixth place in Wake Forest history. * Broderick Hicks played in his 116th career game, tying Lee Garber for 11th in Wake Forest history. * Darius Songaila scored in double figures for the 18th time in 19 games this season and for the 91st time in his career. * Songaila moved into 8th place on Wake's all-time blocked shots list. He entered the game with 88 career blocks. * Craig Dawson continued his streak of making at least one three-point field goal in every game this season. * In the first 14 games of the season, Taron Downey made four 3-point field goals. Over his last five games, Downey has seven 3-pointers. * Maryland beat Wake Forest for the sixth straight time and for the third consecutive time in Joel Coliseum to take a 54-50 series lead. * Wake Forest lost its third consecutive game for the first time since Jan. 30-Feb. 5, 2000. * All three of Wake's consecutive losses have come against teams ranked in the top 10. * Wake Forest lost at home for the first time this season, ending a nine-game homecourt winning streak. * Darius Songaila recorded his second straight double-double, his eighth double-double of the season and the 17th of his career. * Antwan Scott scored in double figures for the 12th time this season, the 31st time in his career. * Wake falls to 2-5 this season vs. nationally-ranked teams. * Wake's margin of defeat was its largest in Joel Coliseum since an 88-52 loss to No. 2 Duke on Jan. 14, 1998. * Dawson moved into 29th place on Wake's all-time scoring chart, passing Guy Morgan. He entered the game with 1,126 points. * Wake opponents shot better than 50 percent in each of the last two games.
