WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest baseball team will conclude its fall workouts this week with a modified, three-game intrasquad series. The series begins Wednesday and runs through Friday at Hooks Stadium. All games will be four-inning contests with top, middle and bottom "halves" of the inning. Each game begins at 3:45 p.m.

The format has been altered because of non-serious injuries to several position players. Instead of a typical two-team, best-of-three series format, a modified three-team, run-differentialscoring system has been agreed upon by the captains of each squad. One team will hit while two teams play defense and one team pitches. The winning team will be determined by subtracting the runs allowed by each team's pitcher from the runs scored by each team.

The Black team will be captained by Ben Clayton, Ryan Hubbard and Adam Bourassa. The Gold team's captains are Ryan Johnson, Eric Maycroft and Jeff Ruziecki. Finally, the White team, the "expansion" team, will be guided by Nick Blue and Seth Hill.

In keeping with Wake Forest baseball tradition, the captains of each team conducted a draft of their teammates.

"A good senior captain will put heavy emphasis on the scouting of his younger teammates," White co-captain Nick Blue said. "The process is strenuous, requiring months and sometimes years, of in-depth analyzation of players."

It should come as no surprise then that the White team drafted junior Doug Riepe. In his first two seasons at Wake Forest, Doug Riepe has never lost. He carries on the Riepe family tradition of success as older brother Andrew was undefeated in his four seasons (1997-2000). With that history, the White team may be considered the pre-series favorite in their expansion year.

Here are the rosters for this week's series.

Black: Brian Bach, Adam Bourassa, Ben Clayton, Brendan Enick, Adam Hanson, Ryan Hubbard, Ben Ingold, Jeff Markley, Brad Scioletti, Kirby Wedekind and Kyle Young.

Gold: Grant Achilles, Jamie D'Antona, Daniel Davidson, Ryan Johnson, Steve LeFaivre, Danny Mackey, Eric Maycroft, Tim Morley, Jonathan Portnoy, Jeff Ruziecki and Indy Wilkinson.

White: Nick Blue, Chris Caudill, Chris Getz, Seth Hill, Steve Malinowski, Ryder Mathias, Doug Riepe, Gregory Russell, Kyle Sleeth, Casey Sterk.
