Wake Forest started two freshmen - Justin Gray and Eric Williams - for the first time since Feb. 27, 2002 when Taron Downey and Vytas Danelius started at Georgia Tech.
The Demon Deacons open the season late in the calendar year. By Nov. 27 last season, Wake was 5-1. The last time Wake opened the year this late came in 1992-93 when the Deacs played their opener on Dec. 1 versus Radford.
Wake Forest's 14 steals tie for the most in the Skip Prosser era (also 14 vs. North Carolina on Feb. 6, 2002).
