Wake Forest Adds Highly Touted Slovenian Standout Lukas Bojovic to 2026-27 Roster

The 6-foot-6 guard joins the Demon Deacons following an incredible campaign with Partizan Belgrade’s U19 squad.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest men's basketball has announced the addition of Slovenian guard Lukas Bojovic, one of Europe's top young prospects and a member of the Slovenian National Team program. The 6-foot-6 18-year-old joins the Demon Deacons after two seasons with Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade, where he established himself as one of the premier players in the Serbian Junior League.
"Lukas adds more size, skill, and shooting to our perimeter," said head coach Steve Forbes. "He played for one of the top clubs in Europe the past two years, Partizan Belgrade. This past year he earned All-Tournament Team honors at the ANGT Belgrade Tournament and the Albert Schweitzer Tournament. Recently, Lukas was selected to participate in the Adidas Eurocamp in Treviso, Italy, one of the premier showcases for young international prospects. Lukas is regarded as one of the top prospects in his age group in Europe and will play for the Slovenia National Team this summer at the FIBA EuroBasket U18 Championship in Trentino, Italy. He turned 18 last month, and his best days are ahead of him. We are excited to welcome him to our program."
Bojovic is coming off a sensational 2025-26 campaign in Serbia, averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game for Partizan Belgrade's U19 squad while shooting 54.7 percent from the field. He ranked among the league leaders in scoring, assists and steals while earning Serbian Junior League Player of the Week honors three times.
His outstanding season culminated in sweeping the Eurobasket.com All-Serbian Junior League awards, earning Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Forward of the Year, Bosman Player of the Year, First Team All-League and All-Defensive Team honors.
Bojovic also excelled on the international stage throughout the year. He averaged 22.8 points, 5.0 assists and 42.9 percent from three-point range during the Adidas Next Generation Tournament (ANGT), earning All-Tournament Team honors at the Belgrade event. He later added another All-Tournament Team selection at the prestigious Albert Schweitzer Tournament before receiving an invitation to the Adidas Eurocamp in Treviso, Italy, one of the top showcases for NBA and international prospects.
A native of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Bojovic has represented his country internationally since the youth level. He competed with Slovenia at the 2024 FIBA U16 EuroBasket, averaging 8.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.7 steals per game, and is set to represent his nation again this summer at the FIBA U18 EuroBasket Championship in Italy.
Widely regarded as one of the top prospects in Europe, Bojovic was recently ranked among the Top 20 European prospects in the 2008-born class by NBADraftPoint and enters Winston-Salem after developing with one of Europe's most respected basketball clubs in Partizan Belgrade.
