Wake Forest vs. North Carolina
Wake Forest Head Coach Skip Prosser
"When you shoot the ball well, everything looks good. Seventy percent shooting in the first half speaks for itself. Individually, Antwan had six defensive rebounds and Broderick played well off the bench. This is another good conference win and a great win at home."
"When they made a 7-0 run, we had six straight turnovers. We didn't want to stop ourselves. Then we started taking care of the ball better and executing well."
On Cincinnati:
"They're the best defensive team in the country and we know were going to be guarded well. I think that this league is difficult enough without throwing Cincinnati into the mix. The first question we have to answer is our physical strength. They are going to come at us at the boards. Secondly, how well we execute against their tough defense. "
Wake Forest's Craig Dawson
"Our defense was a lot better than before. I'm not surprised we were able to get a lot of easy baskets because we were able to turn the defense up another notch."
"Great is the only feeling I feel right now. But the better feeling is being 7-3 in the ACC for the first time."
Wake Forest's Antwan Scott
On building a 30-point lead:
"It felt good, but I didn't really look at the clock very much. I just wanted to keep playing for 40 minutes and get the win."
North Carolina Head Coach Matt Doherty
"It's difficult to talk about this game. They were certainly sensational but that was due in large part to our defense. It was nonexistent in the first half. It was just an awful performance. The biggest reason that they got so many good shots was that our defensive intensity just wasn't good, especially in the first half."
"We try to work on things and we did concentrate on defense the last few days. But it's hard to simulate in practice the players you'll be playing against. It's hard to simulate Josh Howard or Songaila or Taron Downey's quickness."
On Josh Howard:
"He's one of the best players in college basketball. His size, his offense and his rebounding -- and now he's hitting shots from the outside, so he's definitely stretching his game. He's really a terrific player."
On the season:
"It takes a big toll. It's hard, it's very difficult. You don't want to lose anything, but if you have to choose, you'd prefer to lose on a last-second shot than get beaten this way."
"We have a choice - we can work hard or we can just go through the motions. If we don't work hard, we're going to be embarrassed in front of our home crowd. That's a big thing with me - to go out and fight and work hard. And I don't feel like we did that tonight, especially in the first half."
