The No. 26 Wake Forest men??s tennis team (18-6) is one of 64 teams selected to the NCAA Tournament. The Demon Deacons will take on No. 5 Tennessee (19-3) in the first round at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 in Knoxville, TN. The winner will advance to the second round to play the winner of the No. 23 North Carolina versus No. 39 Virginia Tech first round match at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 in Knoxville. The remaining team will then advance to the NCAA Championships May 18-21 at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
David Loewenthal (So., #41 singles, Franklin Lakes, NJ) is one of 64 players selected to the NCAA Singles Championship May 22-26 in College Station, TX.

- Tennessee leads the all-time series with Wake Forest 6-1, winning the last meeting 3-2 on March 18, 1993 in Winston-Salem, NC. The only Demon Deacon victory over the Volunteers was a 5-4 win on March 24, 1975 in Wiston-Salem. Wake has played, and lost to, both Virginia Tech and North Carolina this season.

- This is Wake Forest??s third trip to the NCAA Tournament. The first was in 1998 and the last was 2001. The Demon Deacons are 0-2 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.

- Wake Forest is led by sophomore David Loewenthal, who is ranked #41 in singles. Loewenthal has played at No. 1 at singles and doubles for the Demon Deacons all season. He owns a 30-12 record in singles (15-6 at No. 1) and a 26-10 mark in doubles, (13-7 at No. 1) along with partner Trent Brendon. Loewenthal was one of 64 players selected to the NCAA Singles Championship May 22-26 in College Station, TX.
- Derrick Spice, the ACC Rookie of the Year, leads the team with 36 singles wins. Playing at No. 3 for the Demon Deacons, Spice owns a record of 12-3 at the No. 3 flight. He broke the single-season school record for singles victories, which was 30, halfway through the spring season and is at 36-12 going into the NCAA Tournament.
- Justin Kaufmann, the lone senior in Wake Forest??s starting lineup, is in second place on the school career singles victories list with 84 wins and trails Wake??s all-time leader, Stefan Dallwitz (1985-88), by only five victories. One more win in doubles would tie Kaufmann for fifth place on the school career doubles victories list with 62. He is 24-12 in singles (13-6 at No. 6) and 14-12 in doubles (9-9 at No. 3) this season.
- Loewenthal, Brendon, Spice and David Bere each earned All-ACC honors. Bere (No. 2), Spice (No. 3) and Brendon (No. 5) each won their respective flights and Loewenthal was elected by the conference coaches. Wake??s four selections were more than any other team in the nine-team league. It is the first time in the program??s history that more than two Demon Deacons received all-conference honors. Spice was also named the ACC Rookie of the Year.
