No. 4 Demon Deacons Set for Road Tests with No. 62 Miami and No. 49 Florida State

Wake Forest will take on the Hurricanes on Friday before a clash with the Seminoles on Sunday.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Taking an eight-match win streak into the weekend, the No. 4-ranked Wake Forest Men's Tennis team will hit the road for the first time in ACC play as it takes on Miami and Florida State this weekend on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
Friday's match against the Hurricanes will begin at noon. Fans can tune in by visiting Miami's PlaySight and follow along via live results. On Sunday, the battle with the Seminoles is also slated for a 12 p.m. with live results available here and a live stream link will be shared once it is made available.
Wake Forest leads the all-time series against Miami, 17-13, and has won 10-consecutive matches against the Hurricanes dating back to 2013. Against the Seminoles, the Deacs trail the series 18-24, but have taken 12 of the last 17 meetings.
Additionally, Wake Forest has won 17-consecutive ACC regular season matches following a flawless run last year and has taken a total of 118 conference victories since the start of the 2013 campaign.

Hot Start
The Demon Deacons have opened the 2026 campaign with a combined 58-12 record in singles and 32-8 mark in doubles and have swept four-consecutive matches. Sophomore Joaquin Guilleme leads the team with 12 singles wins to just one loss, followed by sophomore standout Luca Pow with a 10-3 record.
Wake Forest freshmen have accounted for 23 wins this campaign, led by Mees Rottgering with a 9-2 mark and Dominick Mosejczuk with seven wins and zero losses.
Chasing History
DK Suresh and Luca Pow have played a major role in Wake Forest's success over the last three years and have been climbing up the program record books. Suresh is already seventh all time in career doubles wins (89) and Pow is seven away from cracking the top 10 himself.

Last Time Out (vs. Georgia Tech and SC State)
The Wake Forest men's tennis team wrapped up the opening weekend of ACC play with a 4-0 victory over No. 43 Georgia Tech followed by a 4-0 sweep of SC State Sunday at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
The Deacs extended their home winning streak to a stellar 39 matches dating back to April of 2024. Since 2013, Wake Forest leads the nation in home wins with 235 and ranks second during that span in total wins with 371.
The Demon Deacons continued their strong play in doubles throughout the day, having now won the opening point 14 times this spring. Mees Rottgering and Kacper Szymkowiak played together for the second and third times this year during Sunday, now 2-0 as a pair.
Competing as the team leader in singles this spring, sophomore Joaquin Guilleme moved to 12-1 during Sunday. For the second consecutive contest, he clinched the Deacs' match point, doing so versus Georgia Tech. He now stands at an exceptional 21-1 overall mark in collegiate dual matches.
Junior Luca Pow wrapped his impressive weekend with solo wins over Georgia Tech's Jonathan Irwanto (6-1, 6-2) and SC State's Novak Novakovic (6-3, 6-4). The ranked Deac now holds a 10-3 singles record this spring and has pieced together 167 combined singles and doubles wins over the last three years – the most out of any active Wake Forest player. He joins Guilleme as one of two Demon Deacons with double-digit solo wins for the year so far.
On court one, senior star DK Suresh Ekambaram, the No. 17-ranked player in the nation, picked up his second singles win of his 2026 spring campaign as he downed SC State's Mikalai Bankou, 7-6, 6-0. This marked his 64th singles victory in a Wake Forest uniform and 39th in dual match play as he continues to cement himself as one of the all-time Demon Deacons.
In his second-career ACC dual match, redshirt sophomore Andrew Delgado secured a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Georgia Tech's Robert Baur on court six. He is now 4-0 overall in singles dual matches and 9-0 in doubles.
Playing in his fourth singles match this season, Cornelius Shalmi only dropped three total games in a dominant straight-sets showing (6-2, 6-1) over Vanja Petrov of SC State.
The Deacs have now won five matchups over Georgia Tech tracing back to the 2023 campaign. Against SC State, Wake Forest improved to 6-0 in the all-time series.
Rankings Update
The Demon Deacons were tabbed as the fourth-best team in the nation in the latest ITA poll after spending most of last season in the top spot, and is one of five ACC teams ranked inside the top 25 to open the outdoor season. Individually, Wake Forest has five singles players and one doubles pair ranked.

The Bresky Era
Since arriving at Wake Forest, head coach Tony Bresky has enjoyed a highly-decorated career, winning ITA National Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2025, along with garnering ACC Coach of the Year honors in 2013, 2016 and 2025.
Bresky led Wake Forest to its first-ever national title in 2018, after accumulating a 33-2 mark and most recently led one of the most dominant seasons in collegiate tennis history as the Deacs won 40 matches en route to capturing the ACC regular season title, ITA Indoor Title and NCAA Championship.
Individually, Bresky has coached two ACC Players of the Year (Noah Rubin and Melios Efstathiou), along with 40 All-ACC selections and 12 ITA Singles All-Americans.
During his tenure at Wake Forest, Bresky has amassed 383 wins. Of note, early in 2023 with a victory over No. 6 Tennessee, Bresky became the winningest coach in program history, surpassing the legendary Jim Leighton. Most recently against Texas, he reached the 400-career win mark.
