CAPE COD, Mass. -- - Wake Forest's Adam Bourassa and Adam Hanson have been selected as Cape Cod League All-Stars. Both will participate in Saturday's All-Star Game to be held at Whitehouse Field in Harwich, Mass. The game will air live on Fox Sports New England at 6:05 p.m. eastern time.
Bourassa, now a two-time Cape All-Star for Yarmouth-Dennis, will be a starter in the outfield for the East. The rising senior from Apple Valley, Minn., is third in the league in hitting at .328. He is second in the league in hits (40) and fifth in stolen bases (13).
Hanson will make his first All-Star appearance for the West team. The rising junior from Medford, N.J., has been virtually unhittable this summer for Cotuit. Hanson is second in the league with an almost perfect 0.32 ERA. He has a 1-0 record with five saves in 16 appearances. In his 28.1 innings, Hanson has allowed just one earned run on 14 hits with 33 strikeouts and eight walks.
For the first time in the league's 117-year history, the All-Star Game, considered the crown jewel of the nation's premier collegiate summer league, will be televised to approximately 3.8 million homes in New England plus those with the channel on satellite. The game will air twice in prime-time on Fox SportsNet New England, including Tuesday, July 30 from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. and again Saturday, August 3 from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m.
