Wake Forest's 42-13 win...
- improves its all-time record to 370-556-34
- lifts it all-time ACC record to 96-240-5
- marks its fourth straight win over Duke, tying its longest such streak in the series
- gives the Deacs a 2-1 mark in road games this season
- halts a two-game losing skid for WFU and prevents it from dropping three in a row for the first time since 2001
- ties as the most points scored by WFU against Duke in this series (WFU also scored 42 in 2001)
- is the biggest win by either team in the series since a 37-point Duke victory in 1990
- Running back Chris Barclay carried the ball seven times (on nine rushing plays) for a total of 71 yards on the Deacs' opening drive, scoring the TD on a 12-yard rush.
- Punter Ryan Plackemeier booted a career-long 67-yarder in the first quarter, the longest punt for WFU since Martin Bailey had a 74-yard punt versus Duke on Nov. 5, 1988. He also added a 56-yarder in the second half.
- Junior Eric King nearly scored his second touchdown in as many meetings with Duke after picking up a Blue Devil fumble and returning it 42 yards to the 1-yard-line. Last year, King returned a blocked field goal 90 yards for the score.
- Barclay went over 100 yards for the second straight game and for the just the second time in his career. He reached the 100-yard mark in the opening minute of the second quarter.
- Matt Wisnosky took over placekicking duties versus Duke, connecting on six extra points. Wisnosky, who has been handling kickoffs for most of the season, had not attempted a kick after missing a PAT on WFU's first touchdown drive of the season.
- Barclay's 163 rushing yards were the most since Morgan Kane tallied 224 against Georgia Tech on Nov. 20, 1998. Barclay also tacked on three touchdowns today, bringing his career total to 15. It is the second time in his career that he's scored three touchdowns in a game (also at Purdue, 9/21/02).
- Linebacker Kellen Brantley recorded his second touchdown in as many meetings with Duke on an interception return when took a Schneider pick 64 yards for the score in the second quarter. Last year, Brantley had a 29-yard interception return against the Blue Devils. This year's score was sixth-longest interception return in school history.
- Wake Forest's 42-0 halftime lead was the most points in a half since WFU set a school record with 50 at Virginia in 1975. The 28 points scored in the second stanza ties a school record for points in a quarter (also at UVa in 1975).
- Quarterback Cory Randolph played just over a half, completing a perfect 4-of-4 passes for 78 yards. Walk-on Anders Larson made his first collegiate appearance.
- Wake Forest attempted just four passes on the afternoon - all in the first half. It was the fewest pass attempts since Demon Deacons attempted 10 on Sept. 14, 1991 against Western Carolina. The school record for fewest attempts is three set in 1971 against North Carolina.
- Junior wide receiver Jason Anderson's streak of consecutive games with at least two catches ended Saturday at 14 straight games.
- Senior Caron Bracy blocked an extra-point attempt with 8:19 left in the fourth quarter. It was the bandit's first career block.
- Duke did out gain Wake Forest, 386-334, on the afternoon, but the Deacs did not attempt a single pass in the second half. It marked the seventh straight game that Wake Forest has been out gained by its opponent.
- Junior flanker Scott Marino also recorded his first career rush late in the fourth quarter.
