  • Wake Forest's 2003 NCAA championship today in field hockey was the Deacons' second straight national title.
  • Wake Forest has now won six NCAA championships in all sports -- field hockey (2002, 2003), men's golf (1974, 1975, 1986) and baseball (1955).
  • Deacon field hockey and men's golf teams own back-to-back NCAA titles.
  • Wake Forest is the first field hockey team to win consecutive NCAA crowns since North Carolina won three straight from 1995-97.

*2 (1991-92) -- Duke men's basketball
2 (1981-82) -- North Carolina men's lacrosse
2 (1981-82) -- Virginia women's cross country
2 (1999-00) -- North Carolina women's soccer
2 (1996-97) -- North Carolina women's soccer
