Wake Forest's 2003 NCAA championship today in field hockey was the Deacons' second straight national title.
Wake Forest has now won six NCAA championships in all sports -- field hockey (2002, 2003), men's golf (1974, 1975, 1986) and baseball (1955).
Deacon field hockey and men's golf teams own back-to-back NCAA titles.
Wake Forest is the first field hockey team to win consecutive NCAA crowns since North Carolina won three straight from 1995-97.

Here's a list of all the ACC schools, in every sport, that have won the most consecutive NCAA championships:

7 (1995-2001) -- Maryland women's lacrosse
