WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team invites fans to Joel Coliseum on Sunday, Feb. 9 for its annual "Jam Joel" game against ACC rival North Carolina. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m. All tickets are just $1.00 as the Demon Deacons will try to break its all-time attendance record.
"This is an annual opportunity for the Wake Forest fan to come out see the women's basketball team," said Wake Forest head coach Charlene Curtis. "We hope everyone will come out and support us as we go up against the No. 6 team in the country and try to break our attendance record."
The school record for attendance at a women's basketball home game is 4,786, set earlier this season versus Western Carolina on Middle School Day. The annual "Jam Joel" game has traditionally broken the attendance record each year.
Wake Forest owns a 10-9 record heading into a game at Virginia tonight. The Tar Heels will come to Winston-Salem ranked sixth nationally and own a 19-2 record before playing at NC State on Friday evening. UNC will be the highest-ranked opponent to play at Joel Coliseum so far this season.
The Tar Heels defeated Wake Forest in their first meeting earlier this season in Chapel Hill, but the Demon Deacons have defeated UNC at home in each of the last three seasons.
