Josh Howard Named To Wooden All-America Team

Wake Forest senior Josh Howard added to his list of individual honors today when he was named to the 10-man John R. Wooden Award All-America Team.
Howard is the first Demon Deacon to make the Wooden team since Tim Duncan in 1997. Howard previously was named first team All-America by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and he was the unanimous selection for ACC Player of the Year. Howard was named National Player of the Year by Fox Sports, Basketball Digest and College Insider.
The 6-6 Howard is joined on the Wooden All-America Team by Nick Collison (Kansas), T.J. Ford (Texas), Jason Gardner (Arizona), Kirk Hinrich (Kansas), Brandin Knight (Pittsburgh), Emeka Okafor (Connecticut), Hollis Price (Oklahoma), Dwayne Wade (Marquette) and David West (Xavier).
Howard averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while leading the Deacons to a 25-6 overall record and a first-place finish in the ACC standings. He will graduate in May ranked among Wake??s all-time leaders in scoring, rebounding, steals, blocked shots, three-point field goals, double-doubles, games played and games started.
