Men's Tennis Rallies Past Clemson, 5-2

Winston-Salem, NC ?V In its final home match of the season, the 27th-ranked Wake Forest men??s tennis team defeated No. 32 Clemson Friday night at Leighton Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC. The Tigers swept all three doubles matches, but the Demon Deacons took five of six singles matches to capture the victory, 5-2.
No. 46 David Loewenthal moved into sole possession of fourth place on Wake Forest??s career singles wins list and a tie for fourth on the season singles wins list with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Sander Koning. Derrick Spice and David Bere beat both of their opponents in straight sets at the No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Trent Brendon slid into a tie for seventh place in Wake Forest??s seasons singles wins list, defeating Jarmaine Jenkins at the No. 4 singles, 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-2. Ash Misquith took the lone Clemson singles victory from Brett Ross, 6-4, 6-3.
With the win, the Demon Deacons improve to 11-6 overall and 4-3 in the ACC, while the Tigers drop to 19-9 and 3-2. Up next, Wake Forest ventures out of conference play to face 20th-ranked South Carolina on Apr. 9 at 3:00 pm.
