Volleyball Opens 2003 Season On Friday

Winston-Salem, N.C.-- The 2003 Wake Forest volleyball season gets underway this weekend with the Deacon Invitational which will be held at Reynolds Gymnasium. The Deacs will play host to Kentucky, SMU and Tennessee Tech during the tournament.

The Demon Deacons are enthusiastic about the upcoming season and look to improve on their 14-18 overall record in 2002. Twelve letterwinners return for this season, including the 2002 ACC Rookie of the Year, Christy Williams.

The match times for the 2003 Deacon Invitational are as follows:

Friday, August 29th

Tennessee Tech vs. SMU- 5 pm

Wake Forest vs. Kentucky- 7 pm

Saturday, August 30th

Kentucky vs. SMU- 11 am

Wake Forest vs. Tennessee Tech- 1 pm

Kentucky vs. Tennessee Tech- 5 pm

Wake Forest vs. SMU- 7 pm
