Deacons Picked Sixth in Preseason ACC Volleyball Poll

Winston-Salem, N.C.- The Wake Forest volleyball team was picked to finish sixth in the 2003 ACC preseason coaches poll which was released on Thursday. The Deacons recorded a 14-18 overall record in 2002, and finished seventh in the ACC with a 6-10 mark in conference games. Head Coach Valorie Baker will return five starters in 2003, including ACC Rookie of the Year, Christy Williams.
Wake Forest begins the 2003 season with the Deacon Invitational which begins on August 29th. The Deacons will play host to Kentucky, Tennessee Tech and SMU during the two day tournament.
Georgia Tech was the unanimous selection to finish first while Duke, North Carolina and Clemson rounded out the top four.
