Preseason ITA Rankings Released

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The preseason edition of the men's and women's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings have been released for the 2003-04 campaign.
Junior Katie Martzolf, who played most of last season at #2 singles, was listed 81st nationally in singles. The Indianapolis, Ind. native went 16-19 overall last season, including 7-14 in the #2 singles slot. Martzolf posted an impressive 8-3 mark last fall.
In doubles, Martzolf and senior Karin Coetzee were ranked in a tie for 49th. Martzolf and Coetzee did not play together last season, but the duo picked up 21 and 16 wins in doubles, respectively.
The Demon Deacons will open the 2003-04 season at the St. Mary's Classic hosted by Tennessee on Sept. 19-21.
