ANN ARBOR, MI - Sophomore Maeke Boreel's unassisted goal in overtime lifted defending national champion Wake Forest to a 1-0 field hockey season-opening victory over Iowa here Sunday afternoon.
The win over the Hawkeyes came in the opening day of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at the University of Michigan. The Deacons will take on the host Wolverines Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
