Head Coach Jim Grobe
On the overall play:
"We had good things happening on offense, defense and special teams. We just had a good overall game."
"We grew up a little more from last week and got a lot better play from our line."
"At halftime, we knew that we were going to be in a dogfight. And wishing and hoping wouldn't get it done. That we had to go out and play."
"We never got depressed on defense when they made big plays. We just stepped up and played ball."
On NC State possibly overlooking Wake Forest:
"That challenged our guys because we knew that they might have come in unfocused and looking ahead to Ohio State."
Quarterback Cory Randolph
On the win:
"It was a great win and it was great to celebrate with my teammates. Our offense started early. We wanted to open up and execute well. We had a lot of confidence but we knew we had to establish our gameplan early. We executed and concentrated a little harder this week."
On NC State:
"We knew that NC State has a lot of great weapons on offense. They have the ability to score at anytime. We knew we had to keep going and playing well."
Wide Receiver Jason Anderson
On Cory Randolph:
"Last week, he just had a lot of jitters. But everyone's nervous in their first game. He knew he had to step up and rise to the occasion. He's a great quarterback and he knows where to put the ball."
On the underdog label:
"Having that underdog or underachiever label drives you to prove everybody wrong. Every week we know we have to fight hard to earn respect."
Wide Receiver Willie Idlette
On his punt return for a touchdown:
"I saw their guys coming after me and I was expecting to get hit. But they slowed up and our punt block team made some great blocks. I just ran and Eric King had a great block on the punter."
On the win:
"We knew coming out in the second half that we had to keep the pressure on them and not let up. We came out and played hard and got the victory, and hopefully the quad will be white with toilet paper."
