Four Deacons Named to Preseason All-ACC Teams

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Wake Forest seniors Steve LeFaivre and Brad Scioletti and juniors Brian Bach and Ben Ingold and were named to SEBaseball.com's Preseason All-ACC teams, the website announced on Friday afternoon. Bach, Ingold and LeFaivre were named to the second team while Scioletti was an honorable mention selection.
Bach, a right handed pitcher from Winston-Salem, N.C., went 6-2 last season with a 3.89 ERA. In 10 starts, he logged 69.1 innings with 40 strikeouts.
Ingold, a shortstop from Durham, N.C., begins his third year as the team's everyday shortstop. He batted .317 with one homer and 34 RBI in 2003.
LeFaivre, an outfielder from Winston-Salem, N.C., platooned as the team's designated hitter in 2003, battting .315 with three homers and 29 RBI in 31 starts. LeFaivre is projected to be the team's right fielder in 2004.
Scioletti, an infielder from Hyannis, Mass., split time with LeFaivre. In 28 starts, he batted .313 with four home runs and 26 RBI. Scioletti is expected to play first or third base this spring for the Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest opens its 2004 schedule on February 17 at Davidson. The home opener is slated for the following Tuesday, February 24 against Appalachian State at Hooks Stadium.
