Winston-Salem, N.C. - Three Wake Forest women's tennis recruits recently signed national letters of intent to make up the 2008/2009 recruiting class for the Deacons. Ana Jerman of Slovenia, Christian Tara of Lake Bluff, IL, and Sierra Poske of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl all committed to playing for the Deacons.

Jerman was a touted recruit out of Bradenton Academy and was ranked as high as 33 in ITF Singles. Head Coach Brian Fleishman was pleased with her decision to join the Demon Deacons. He stated, "I consider Ana a blue chip recruit. She will contribute high in the line-up. Ana will be coming to Wake Forest with a lot of international experience. Ana will be the first lefty I have recruited and her desire to pursue a professional career on the WTA tour after college will make her a great addition to the team."

Tara, who played for Lake Forest Academy, is ranked as high as 20 in the USTA national rankings. She was the 2003 Independent School League Singles Champion, as well as the 2003 Independent School League Player of the Year. Fleishman stated, "Christian is a top 20 USTA junior coming out of the Midwest. Her style of play will contribute highly in both the singles and doubles line-ups. Christian's attitude towards tennis and academics will make her a great candidate to be team captain in the future."

Poske, who attends Allen d. Nease High School, has been ranked as high as 10 in the USTA national rankings and holds 8 USTA national titles. She was the 2003 and 2004 Florida Union Player of the Year. Fleishman is excited about this commitment as well. He stated, "Sierra is a great athlete and competitor. Her feistiness and intelligence on the court will cause her to be a very successful collegiate player. Her energy and enthusiasm will bring the entire team to the next level."
