Volleyball Begins Spring Season

The Wake Forest volleyball team began spring practice last week and is looking forward to competing in several tournaments in the upcoming weeks. The Demon Deacons will open up their spring schedule by competing in a tournament at the University of South Carolina on March 27. The Deacs will then travel to Charlotte on April 3 before returning home to host two tournaments in Reynolds Gymnasium April 10 and 17.
Some of the teams Wake Forest will be competing against at these tournaments include South Carolina, Charlotte, North Carolina, Duke, College of Charleston, Elon, Appalachian State and UNC-Wilmington.
The Deacons finished the 2003 season with a 21-10 overall record and placed third in the ACC standings. Returning starters Valerie Rydberg and Christy Williams each garnered All-ACC, All-Region and honorable mention All-America honors for their efforts last season.
