We started a program around 20 years ago and until we hired Mike Petersen, we had never had a winning season. When Mike came in, he took over a program that was tough to even consider a program. We were not down, we were out. He was somehow able to put together a staff, identify players from around this area and recruit reasonable talent for the status of our program. He then coached that talent to get the most out of them that he could. He recruited good people, that graduated and represented our university with class. Within a matter of a year or two, we were starting to recruit some awfully good athletes and the whole complexion of the program changed. He got the boosters behind him -- raising our attendance. He completely made the TCU women's basketball program."
