Winston-Salem, N.C. -- - The No. 1 Wake Forest field hockey team will welcome Radford, Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. for the first of two home games this week. On Saturday, the Demon Deacons will host Atlantic Coast Conference rivals Virginia at 1 p.m.
Wake Forest enters the game on an 18 game winning streak that dates back to last season's NCAA tournament. The Deacs are most recently coming off three victories last week, including a 3-2 double overtime win over No. 4 North Carolina. In that game, Wake trailed for the majority of the second half, but a goal by Haley Scott with four minutes left and then the game winner in the second overtime by Lauren Crandall clinched the victory for Wake.
Against Radford, Wake Forest owns a 11-6-1 overall record in the series, including victories in the last nine games. In the past seven meetings, the Deacs have out-scored the Highlanders, 50-1, including a 9-0 routing in 2004.
Game time on Wednesday is set for 7 p.m.
