No. 1 Field Hockey Takes On No. 20 Virginia

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The No. 1 Wake Forest field hockey team will host No. 20 Virginia, Saturday afternoon in Kentner Stadium. If the Demon Deacons defeat the Cavaliers, they will clinch the 2005 regular season title and increase their overall winning streak to 19.

The Deacs are coming into the game off a 4-0 victory over Radford on Wednesday. In that outing, freshman Christine Suggs scored a pair, while twins Haley and Tracey Scott each added one goal. Tracey Scott also had an assist against the Highlanders.

Virginia arrives in Winston-Salem with an 8-6 overall record and an 0-3 mark in the conference and most recently fell to American in overtime, 2-1. Prior to that game, the Cavs fell to No. 4 North Carolina, 3-1.

Game time against Virginia is set for 1 p.m.
