The Deacons took an early 1-0 lead in the eighth minute when freshman Camelyn Dillon netted her first goal of the season. The Demon Deacons attacked the Vols defense as junior Elizabeth Remy dribbled the ball into the box from the endline. Remy threaded a pass to freshman Amanda Lebo who fired a shot that was headed away from the net. Remy collected the rebound and served the ball to Dillon who netted the goal. Remy's assist on the goal marked her record breaking 11th on the season.
The Volunteers took a 2-1 lead with 3:10 remaining in the half when Maranda scored her second goal of the match. Gorman collected a failed clearing attempt by the Deacon defense and set Maranda up a shot that found the upper right corner of the net.
The Volunteers stretched the lead back to two goals in the 66th minute when Emily Redberg knocked in a goal. Rossi beat the Deacon defense and fired a shot that deflected off the post right to Redberg who scored on the rebound.
Tennessee took a three goal lead in the 71st minute when Rossi and Redberg connected again, this time Redberg setting up Rossi for the goal on a give-and-go down the left side of the field.
The Demon Deacons finished their season with their 10th consecutive NCAA berth. The Demon Deacons also earned a top-25 ranking for a 10th consecutive year. For the latest on
