Hey there Deacon Fans,
Andy here gives you an update from Bourne, Mass. The Bourne Braves are now 10-6-1. We have won 10 out of 13 and had a season-high six-game winning streak snapped last week after we lost to the Cotuit Ketteelers, 5-2. That puts us in first place in the Western Division.
The team is definitely starting to come together both on and off the field.
There is not a whole lot that goes on other than baseball. I am starting to fall into a routine. A typical day for me starts by getting up around 7:45 am and having some cereal with my host family (usually some Cap'n Crunch or some Honey Nut Cheerios). Then, I leave the house about 8:00 am or so and grab a cup of coffee at Tedeschi Foods (a 7-11 type place). I get to the field around 8:30 am and do my work, which usually takes about 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours. I then go back to the house and clean my uniform from the previous day's game, grab a bite, head back to the field in time for 1:45 pm batting practice. I don't get back home from the game until about 7:30 or 8:00 pm, at which time I eat with my host family. After that, I just relax (that is, I watch a little baseball or I might even catch a flick).
Well that's a day in the life of Andy Goff on the Cape this summer. Not a whole lot of variety right now, but certainly a lot of baseball. Can't ask for more than that!
Til next time -- Go Deacs
